I also had written the scene in the wrong POV. I knew something was wrong and I couldn't move on until I figured out what it was. Took me forever to discover the problem. When I stopped forcing, gee, everything got so much easier. Also, I'm reining in the hero too much. He's an alpha bad boy with uber-self-confidence, and I need to let him go for it.
