Why Yes, It's Free!

For a limited time, one of my older books, Penelope & Prince Charming is free on Kindle from Amazon. It begins the Nvengaria series (historical with paranormal touches). If you or anyone you know has wanted to try this series, you can now for FREE! I think this runs until the end of the month. Don't worry if you don't have a Kindle! You can download the free Kindle app for your desktop computer, laptop, iPod Touch or iPhone. (I peronally read my ebooks on my iPod Touch using various apps, and I LOVE IT.)

Later this month (and I'll post when), the first of my Immortals books will be offered free from Borders. Stay tuned!

Very depressed that I can't download this, as it's not available to UK readers. [Sad face]

Looks really good too!

That is true; I think it's U.S. only. Readers in Canada and the UK, I urge you--write to the publishers and tell them you want ebooks! Amazon and the publishers make deals about where the books are sold, so you, as their customer, need to tell them what you want. Ebooks are so "new" to the big pubs that this stuff hasn't been ironed out yet (and I'll cheer the day that it is).

Ahh! Actually, I am reading this novel right now, thanks to the free-ness of it all! It's really really exciting. Right now, I'm at the part where Penelope sees Damien meeting Anastasia, and it looks like she's his mistress, and it's just really really intense. In fact, I had to put it down because of that, lol.

I mean, I think Damien is not that type... he seems to be genuinely in love with Penelope, so I don't think he would actively cheat on Penelope, but at the same time... well... he is a prince, and maybe Anastasia is blackmailing him or something? I'm not sure. Part of me can't bare to look.

And then there's the whole Alexander thing. Good grief! For a bit, I was sure that Penelope would heal his wife since she was a natural healer and it would be fine and Alexander would be all hunkydory and everybody would live happily ever after. But now? She's dead! And I feel awful about it because... well... Alexander did what he could! And if only Alexander weren't so blind to the hatred of Damien's father...

Also... I kind of adore Sasha. He's rather adorable, yes.

*sighs* I'll finish this story up, lol. But... there are sequels? :)

Karina: Thanks for your post!

There are sequels:

The Mad, Bad Duke (Alexander's story)

Highlander Ever After (Egan's story)

Plus a short story "The Longest Night" which is the story of Egan's sister (not introduced until Highlander EA) and a logosh. This appears in the anthology: A Christmas Ball.

Slight spoiler for you: None of my characters ever cheat on each other. I won't let them. ;-)

Ooers! Thanks! I finally finished the story today, so I am glad! I kind of had a feeling that it would end happily ever after (or at least, I hoped it would!) so that was really awesome. But, I'm glad that Alexander was finally recognized by Damien. That was the main thing, I think. I kind of adore Alexander. Yes, he's very cold and methodical, but I'm an engineer, so I can appreciate that sort of methodical approach. It keeps people on their toes and progressing. Though, admittedly, Alexander would be a terrible ruler just because he was so focused on doing everything opposite of Damien's father that he kind of lost focus there for a bit.

So, basically it makes me happy that Alexander has a sequel. I'm not sure if he was my favorite character (I kind of adored them all!) but he was definitely up there! Plus, his son is adorable. Maybe not as adorable as Wulf (who is Sasha-level adorable!) but definitely up there. I'll definitely have to check that sequel! :)

Also! I loved how you used weather (snow!) to create that sort of suspense. That was awesome. But, the Nvengarians were mean to get Sasha drunk before that trek... poor Sasha! He's such a doll.

Egan! Him, sequel?! This amuses me! I am a horrible person and kept on thinking that he was going to turn on everyone and betray Damien. Which sounds awful and everything, but he is a great liar and he's not entirely honest with himself, which makes me dubious of his motives. So, part of the reason why I had to stop when I did was because I was sure that Egan had brought her there on purpose, so that she could see him with Anastasia and then he would twist Penelope around and manipulate her. After all, if his true love was married to a duke of sorts, he might want to manipulate the situation to get with this lady and that might mean twisting arms... more precisely, Damien's and Penelope's. Which he didn't, of course, but I still don't quite know if I can trust him! I suppose I'll have to take Damien's word on this. And, read the story, of course. I'll reserve my judgment on his sister till that time. ;)

Aha, a spoiler! But that's probably a good thing, lol. Having characters cheat on each other might get a little messy! Kind of like in "A Shot in the Dark"... that movie with the Pink Panther. They definitely used cheating people to a very confusing (and hilarious!) effect. :)

I just got it on my kindle and looked up your website! Enjoying the freebie greatly. : )

I'm in Canada so can't download the freebie either. You said we should contact the publisher. The publisher on the Amazon.com site for the Kindle edition of "Penelope and Prince Charming" is Dorchester. This is the company we should contact? Sorry to ask. I've never contacted a publisher before but I now have good reason!

Thanks,

Catherine
