RT This Week

I'll be wandering the halls of the Romantic Time Booklovers Convention in Houston this week, talking and learning things and having a good time. I'm giving a workshop on Wednesday morning about how to submit your work professionally and land an agent or editor, and on Wednesday afternoon will be on a panel with Gena Showalter and others to talk about dragons and things.

If you see me, say hi, and ask me for a button for either The Immortals series or my Allyson James novel Dragon Heat. I'm having trouble fitting the buttons in my suitcase (!) so I probably own't have many, so ask me if you see me.

More goodies for The Immortals will be given away at the Dorchester Immortals Extravaganza on Saturday night, plus Dorchester always gives away a lot of backlist books, so show up to get stuff!

I'll also be signing whatever books are stacked on my table on Saturday morning/afternoon. The Calling and I think Mad, Bad Duke plus some Ellora's Cave books.

It looks like Immortals: The Calling has released, at least on-line, though I don't think it will show up in stores until May 1. B&N has it at this big long URL.

If you want to know all about the books and the storyline, browse the Immortals site: www.immortals-series.com The books are all connected (not just stories in the same world), and should be read in order.

Enjoy and see you when I get back!

Countdown to Immortals

Immortals: The Calling is out on May 1 (14 days away!). I've posted on the Dorchester forums some info about all four books and the overall story so you can get a taste of what it's all about.

Also, first chapters are available for The Calling and The Darkening

I'll be at Romantic Times Booklovers convention all next week, and I have some buttons to give away for the series. I don't have many, so I'm giving them away personally. So if you see me, mention that you saw this on my blog, and you get a button! They're pretty cool.

See you there!

She Has a Head

I saw over on the "Reading the Past" blog an entry pondering the "headless women" effect on covers of historical novels. Friday I got the cover for my upcoming historical novel The Queen's Handmaiden (a novel revolving around Elizabeth I)--and good news, she has a head. We can rest easy.

I love this cover--so elegant! The pub. date is October, 2007. I'll have more info and excerpts up on my site (www.jennifersromances.com/forthcoming.html) as I get them.

Guest Blogger at aliendjinnromances

Rowena Cherry kindly offered to let me guest blog on her group blog for sci-fi romance. You'll find my post on April 4 at http://aliendjinnromances.blogspot.com/

Deep thoughts about non-human heroes. Well, thoughts anyway.

I am Allyson James

I forget to remind readers that I write as many people, one of whom is Allyson James. She's my alter-ego who writes those erotic romances and has jumped headlong into searing hot futuristic and paranormal romance. Fun stuff!!

I have a myspace page: www.myspace.com/allysonjamesauthor
A site: www.allysonjames.com
A blog: www.allysonjames.bravejournal.com
and books on Amazon: Click here for books

Soon I'll have a video for the shapeshifting Dragon series. That series is straightforward paranormal romance/urban fantasy, and at Ellora's Cave I write futuristic romance about genetically enhanced male sex slaves called the Shareem (hey, why not?). The Shareem series has done very well, and it's dear to my heart--I love those guys!

I know several authors with double lives who want to keep their identies secret, but I've never been very good with keeping things like that under my hat. It's me! It's me!

On the Jennifer Ashley side, some more good news: Penelope & Prince Charming won the RT Reviewer's Choice Award for Best Historical Romantic Adventure. Yay! I'll be at the awards luncheon to get my plaque--and I promise I'll keep the speech short.
