Pride Mates (Shifters Unbound Series)

Next week (July 5), Pride Mates, the first book of the Shifters Unbound series, will be back on the shelves!! It's being re-printed by Berkley (is already available as an ebook).

I was thrilled that Berkley could again use the cover art by Franco. I love that picture.

I have more announcements about this series, but I have to wait until everything's concrete before I give you some fun news. Darn it.

On another note: The Many Sins of Lord Cameron, which has been getting some fabulous reviews from Publisher's Weekly and RT Bookreviews, is just around the corner. AUGUST 2!! Coinciding with the re-release of The Madnesss of Lord Ian with a brand new cover.

I can't get to RWA this year, but I assure you, I'll be spending the time writing. On the fun things I will tell you about soon. :-) And many other things!

Shifter Made and Pride Mates

I'm pleased to announce the e-release of Shifter Made, a novella of the Shifters Unbound series for 99 cents! (previously released in The Mammoth Book of Irish Romance.) Shifter Made is a 10K-word novella that tells the story of how the Sword of the Guardian (Sean's sword), came to be. A Shifter and a Fae--hated enemies, but they must work together to protect all Shifters forever.

I recently got word that PRIDE MATES (Book 1 of Shifters Unbound) will be re-released in both mass market paperback and e-book in July 2011. The cover is similar to the first, but this one will be published by Berkley Sensation. So it will be available again, hooray! Pre-order from Amazon by clicking the title (the Kindle and other versions will be available closer to release date).

Reminder that Book 2 of Shifters Unbound: PRIMAL BONDS releases on March 1, 2011. Soon!

The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie will be re-released by Berkley in August 2011 to coincide with the release of The Many Sins of Lord Cameron. You can preorder those by clicking the titles. (Lord Ian will also be available in e-book again at that time.)

TITLE CHANGE: Shifter Lovin' to Primal Bonds

Update: The title Shifter Lovin' wasn't loved at my publisher, so after a good night of staring at the ceiling brainstorming titles, I gave them a couple dozen others. The one they liked best?

PRIMAL BONDS

So, PRIMAL BONDS is now Shifters Unbound #2. Same book, same characters, same ISBN number, same everything, different title. The Amazon site will be updated in a few days (as soon as everything cycles through), and I already changed it on Goodreads and my own websites.

PRIMAL BONDS is Sean's story--he steps up to mate-claim a half-Fae Lupine Shifter so she can leave a bad situation and relocate to the Austin Shiftertown. Andrea Gray is fine with this, but she never expects the hot Guardian of the Morrissey clan to overwhelm her when he picks her up from the Austin bus station.

Because of the mate claim she was running from, and because Andrea is so far down in her pack, Sean is expecting to meet a submissive she-wolf who can barely lift her head. Instead Andrea meets his gaze with smoke-gray eyes and rocks his world. Intrigued, Sean's protective and mate instincts are aroused, and he'll try anything he can to make this mate claim move beyond one in name only.

I am very excited to announce the release of PRIDE MATES, which will hit the stores officially this Tuesday (Jan. 26). PRIDE MATES introduces a brand new series of shape shifter novels.

As some of you may know, PRIDE MATES will be the last book I do at Dorchester Publishing. I’ve pretty much moved lock, stock, and barrel to Berkley, and they will now publish both my Allyson James and Jennifer Ashley novels. Dorchester will still publish my backlist, most of which is still in print and available at bookstores or from online booksellers (Amazon, B&N, Borders, etc.). And I still have things going at Ellora’s Cave as Allyson James.

Countdown to Pride Mates

I'm starting my countdown to the new shape shifter series: Pride Mates! (Pub date Jan. 26)

For a look at the Shifter world, I've prepared "A Human's Guide to Shifters." Here's a peek:

Shifters: Shape shifters of all species, mostly predatory: Most commonly Feline and Lupine. The Fae bred Shifters millennia ago from the best of each species to be hunters and fighters for the Fae. Shifters rebelled during the human Middle Ages, fought the Shifter/Fae war, and thereafter lived independently of the Fae.

Collars: Developed by a half-Fae, Collars are both magical and technological. Tied to the adrenal system, they send shocks and pain through the Shifter's body if he starts to get violent.

Mates: Pairings recognized by the pride or clan leader in two rituals, one under full sun, one under the full moon. Shifters are not allowed to be legally married under human law, but the sun and moon rituals are recognized by Shifter law as a marriage.

Shiftertowns: Enclaves in inner-cities or remote rural areas cordoned off by humans where Shifters must live. Shifters are not allowed to live outside Shiftertowns.

Catching Up

Somehow I have three series running (Stormwalker as Allyson James; Mackenzies and Pride Mates as Jennifer Ashley). I love the books, but it makes for lots of work behind the computer!

I have seen the cover for Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage. It's beautiful, it's almost ready, and I'll post it as soon as I've got it!

Updates

I finished and submitted the manuscript of Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage, where it now awaits my editor's eyes. We're working on the cover, and I've seen the back blurb which I like (not the art yet; that will be a month or so).

That book will be published by Berkley Sensation in July 2010. More (blurbs, cover, excerpts) as we go!

I have added a bunch of information about the upcoming Pride Mates book, which introduces a new series (another one, can you stand it?), which will come out in Feb. 2010. Click here to go to the series page and read about Shifters, along with a message by my hero, Liam.
